Apple iMac Review From a Not-So Computer Genius

Hey guys! If y'all read my blogs at all you would know that I just got an iMac. My iMac is the 2009 27" model that I purchased from Ebay, and after using it for over a month I thought that I could share my opinion on it.

First of all, I'm so glad that I purchased my iMac on Ebay because I got the exact product that I wanted with no damage at all for hundreds of dollars less than I would have paid anywhere else. (Yeah that's right I'm not too good to say that I use Ebay to find things for a discounted price.)

Anyways, when my iMac arrived via UPS the first thing I noticed was that the 27" display was beyond perfect. Yeah I thought that 27 inches was going to be a bit on the large side, but I never imagined that it would look as big as it did especially sitting in my small room. That's ok though; I find my choice of a big screen to be a wise one. This is because with all this space on my screen I find it a lot easier to do more than one task at once. I can have one window on the left, and still have plenty of room on the right. Plus, the screen always has the brightest prettiest colors in it's display. In fact, when I turn my iMac on in the dark my whole room is illuminated in bright colorful lights. The negative side to this may be that the display can sometimes come off as too bright, but if you figure out how to turn the brightness down in the settings then that tiny flaw can be fixed easily. (System Preferences>Displays)

Another perk to having an iMac is that the iMac is an all in one desktop meaning that there is no pesky tower to deal with. So this means that there is only one chord to plug into the wall making the iMac have more mobility.  It also comes in handy that the keyboard and mouse are both operated by bluetooth so you do not have to plug them in either.

Finally, one downfall to the iMac is that it's not as easy to use versus a windows computer. For example, navigation may take a few days to get use to. I know that the first day that I got my iMac I immediately started using it for homework, and was completely lost when I went back to find the files that I had saved.

So, all-in-all I think that the iMac is a great computer to have if you are a little more familiar with computers, and how they work. On the other hand, if you're not so familiar with computers and how they work I would definitely recommend a Windows computer unless you would really like to spend a while figuring out how to navigate, and operate an iMac. If so, then good luck!

Thanks!
